Passive Optical Network (PON)
Passive optical LAN (POL) and fiber-to-the-unit networks that deliver more bandwidth with less equipment, space and power.
Passive Optical Network (PON) in South Florida
A smarter, fiber-based alternative to traditional LANs
A passive optical network uses single-mode fiber and unpowered optical splitters to deliver data, voice, video and Wi-Fi from a central optical line terminal (OLT) to optical network terminals (ONTs) at each desk, room or unit.
Because PON removes most switches and telecom closets from the floors, it can lower power, cooling and space requirements. It is an excellent fit for hotels, condominiums, multifamily buildings, campuses and large offices. Global Dynamics Systems designs the splitter architecture, installs and splices the fiber, and tests every path.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Is PON a good fit for my building?
PON works best in buildings with many endpoints spread across floors or units, such as hotels, condominiums and campuses. We can compare PON and traditional copper designs for your project.
Can PON support Wi-Fi and PoE devices?
Yes. ONTs with PoE ports can power access points, phones and cameras at the edge.
Which PON vendors do you work with?
We install the physical fiber layer for leading GPON and XGS-PON platforms and coordinate with your chosen equipment vendor.
