Public Safety DAS (ERRCS)

Emergency responder radio coverage systems that keep firefighters and police connected inside your building.

Public Safety DAS (ERRCS) in South Florida

Clear radio communication when it matters most

Concrete, steel, energy-efficient glass and below-grade levels can block the radio signals first responders rely on. Fire codes enforced in Florida, including the Florida Fire Prevention Code and NFPA 1225 (formerly NFPA 1221), require minimum radio signal strength throughout many buildings. Coverage is often verified before a certificate of occupancy is issued.

A public safety distributed antenna system (DAS), also called an emergency responder radio coverage system (ERRCS), uses a donor antenna, bi-directional amplifiers and a network of indoor antennas connected by coax or fiber to bring radio coverage into every area. Global Dynamics Systems performs signal surveys, designs the system, installs it and supports acceptance testing with your local fire authority.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How do I know if my building needs a public safety DAS?

Your local fire marshal (the authority having jurisdiction) sets the requirements. A radio signal survey measures existing coverage and shows whether a system is needed.

When should a public safety DAS be planned?

As early as possible, ideally during design. Planning early avoids costly retrofits and delays at the end of construction.

Is annual testing required?

Most jurisdictions require periodic testing and maintenance of ERRCS systems. We can help you schedule and document these tests.
